2009 Outstanding Engineering Project Awards for projects of significance Winner of Best Structural Project The Globe Mills has been selected as a winner of the American Society of Civil Engineers - Sacramento Section's Outstanding Engineering Project for 2009 in the "structure" category. Cyrus Youseffi and Miyamoto International, Incorporated were recognized for their contributions to the project.

2009 J. Timothy Anderson Award for Excellence in Historic preservation Best Historic Rehabilitation in the United States incorporating New Construction By the National Housing & Rehabilitation Association Nov 2009 The Globe Mills has been selected as a winner in this national Award competition, selected from a national field of hundreds of candidates from all over the United States. It was also nominated as a finalist for Best Historic Rehabilitation in the United States using Housing Tax Credits. Applied Architecture Inc was a 2005 winner of the J Timothy Anderson Award for the innovative and widely recognized Hotel Stockton historic adaptive reuse. The award ceremony will occur on November 3rd 2009 in Boston, Massachusetts. |

Local Government Commission selects Globe Mill as a Showcase Sustainable Project 2009 The Globe Mills was selected in October 2009 by the Local Government Commission as a showcase project for the Sacramento Area Youth Sustainability Council. A presentation and tour of the site has been planned for November 11th which will highlight the project as a Sustainable, Smart Growth Transit Oriented Development with close proximity to the services needed for a thriving living environment. The Globe Mills will be cited as a key success story in a follow up presentation to Sacramento Regional elected officials by the Sacramento Area Youth Sustainability Council. |

The Globe Mill project transformed an abandoned industrial complex into a thriving community with edgy lofts, affordable senior apartments and neighborhood commercial. |

2009 California Preservation Design Honor Award Best Large Historic Project in California: Globe Mills By the California Preservation Foundation September 2009 Presented to Michael F Malinowski AIA’s Applied Architecture Inc and Cyrus Youssefi’s CFY Development Inc in a ceremony at the Mark Hopkins Intercontinental. The award cited “Outstanding achievement in the field of Historic Preservation” for the success of the Globe Mill as a transit oriented, Smart Growth, Sustainably Green development project that saved a 100 year old iconic historic industrial complex in Sacramento’s oldest neighborhood as a thriving mix of market rate and affordable housing. |
