Rios Residence
The
architectural "flavors" of Santa Barbara and the owner's childhood
memories of a Land Park classic were the starting points for this
design. Gladding McBean roof tiles cap the turreted entry, which is
surrounded by a striking, wrought-iron rail overlook and leaded,
glass punched windows. "Saltillo" tiles run throughout, accented by
niches, alcoves, arches and hand-painted decorative tile work. The
spacious interiors are filled with details and furnishings handmade
in Mexico specifically for this project, along with locally hand
cast counters and rustic wood detailing.
